Main Waterfall

On Saturday after bowling, the kids and I headed to Rock Glen Conservation Area.

We spent the better part of the day exploring the trails and waterfalls. Our timing was right to get a look in the museum. So many fossils to see! The mural on the wall in what looked like the teaching auditorium was fabulous, A really liked it. We were feeling very brave and daring, so we climbed around on the rocks at the base of the main waterfall and made our way down the river a bit where the kids enjoyed throwing rocks in the water and D got 3 skips out of some of the rocks! Lunch was a picnic on a blanket under a tree, the kids played soccer while they ate, and all in all, we wore ourselves out entirely. We have hopes to go back again, we missed some of the trails. I was often reminded of my trip to Bushkill Falls in Pennsylvania with my Mom, due in large part to the steep trails, but there were a lot less steps to climb here at Rock Glen.
